Join us for an evening of innovative jazz music featuring the Altered Forms Trio alongside the talented guitarist Steffi Narr. The Altered Forms Trio, based in Leipzig, consists of Scottish pianist and composer Gregor Forbes, bassist Robert Lucaciu, and drummer Johannes von Buttlar. They deliver a captivating mix of improvisational music and original compositions, creating a vibrant soundscape described as a windy-wild, fluttering, and curious post-Cecil-Taylor atmosphere. Since their formation in 2019, they have collaborated with notable artists such as Angelika Niescier, Fred Frith, Gabby Fluke-Mogul, and Raymond MacDonald, establishing a distinctive presence in the German jazz and improvisational music scene. Their debut album will be released on October 4, 2024, under Boomslang Records, available in vinyl, CD, and digital formats.
