The Comicfestival München 2025 will take place from June 19 to June 22, 2025, at the ALTEN KONGRESSHALLE. The festival will feature exhibitions, a large publisher's fair, and signing events with national and international comic artists. Attendees can look forward to 100 talks, drawing courses, lectures, readings, a teacher training program, and a theater piece titled 'Ich fühl's nicht,' based on a comic by Liv Strömquist.

In collaboration with Edition Helden, a pop-up store for children's comics will be operational from June 3 to June 14 at the RUFFINIHAUS, alongside a diverse program of comics for children and young adults at the ALTEN KONGRESSHALLE. The PENG! Award ceremony will take place on June 21, 2025, at the WIRTSHAUS AM BAVARIAPARK, honoring the legendary Austrian artist Chris Scheuer for his lifetime achievement and former cultural advisor Anton Biebl for his contributions to Munich's comic culture.

Notable guests include current Lucky Luke artist Achdé, I. Astalos, Mark Benecke, Olaf Brill, Michael Vogt, Charles Berberian, Disney animation legend Andreas Deja, and many more renowned artists and authors.

Additionally, there will be exhibitions throughout the city, such as a showcase of Paolo Bacilieri's work at the ISTITUTO ITALIANO DI CULTURA and an installation by Rutu Modan at the JÜDISCHEN MUSEUM. The Animation Festival Munich will also occur at WERKSTATTKINO, and the Comicbörse is scheduled for June 21, 2025, at TECHNIKUM.

The first exhibition, 'Democracy Defend,' will open on May 28 at the STADTBIBLIOTHEK IM MOTORAMA. Another exhibition featuring the Spanish hit comic 'Clever & Smart' will commence on June 16 at INSTITUTO CERVANTES.

Moreover, from June 12, the FAT CAT (Alter Gasteig) will host an exhibition curated by Titus Ackermann titled 'Life in the War Zone - Comics from Ukraine,' showcasing works by Ukrainian comic artists depicting the struggle to maintain a normal life amid war.

Various institutions, including the NS-DOKUMENTATIONSZENTRUM, the TSCHECHISCHE ZENTRUM, and CAFÉ KOSMOS, will also participate in the festival. For current information, visit comicfestival-muenchen.de.
