On Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 20:00, the Bosco Bürger- und Kulturhaus in Gauting will host a captivating classical music concert featuring Avi Avital, the first mandolin soloist ever nominated for a Grammy. Avital's exceptional mastery of the mandolin has earned him comparisons to legendary musicians like Andrés Segovia and Jascha Heifetz. Described as 'explosively charismatic' by the New York Times, Avital has been pivotal in reviving the mandolin, performing at prestigious venues worldwide for over two decades. He has not only expanded the mandolin repertoire through transcriptions but has commissioned over 100 new works, including concertos from renowned composers like Jennifer Higdon and Anna Clyne.

This season, Avital will perform with major orchestras including the Minnesota Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony, as well as return to celebrated halls like Wigmore Hall in London and the Philharmonie Berlin. His recent projects include the 'Between Worlds Ensemble,' focusing on diverse musical genres and cultures.

Ksenija Sidorova, a leading ambassador for the accordion, joins Avital for this performance. The program will feature a blend of classical masterpieces, including works by Fritz Kreisler, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Igor Stravinsky, Béla Bartók, Manuel de Falla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Camille Saint-Saëns.
