EU Vehicle Registration Update and Intel Job Cuts

The European Union is set to implement significant updates to its vehicle registration regulations, aiming to enhance digitalization in the process. The European Commission has proposed the introduction of digital vehicle registration and inspection certificates, which will simplify cross-border data exchanges and help protect citizens against fraudulent activities such as odometer tampering. Since 2023, vehicle owners in Germany have been able to handle their registration processes online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to registration offices. The upcoming changes in the EU are designed to extend this digital convenience across member states.

Meanwhile, American semiconductor giant Intel continues to face challenges as it attempts to regain its competitive edge. The company, which has struggled with significant financial losses, has announced further job cuts, primarily affecting managerial positions. This follows a previous reduction of approximately 15,000 jobs, representing about 15% of its workforce.
