The latest innovation in recreational boating has arrived with the introduction of the NV1, a cutting-edge electric hydrofoil speedboat from manufacturer Envgo. Targeted at leisure enthusiasts seeking an exhilarating experience on the water, the NV1 showcases an impressive combination of speed, efficiency, and modern design.

During a recent demonstration at the Toronto harbor in Canada, Envgo presented the NV1, a vessel engineered to reach remarkable speeds of up to 43 knots (approximately 80 km/h). Utilizing advanced hydrofoil technology, this speedboat offers a range of up to 119 kilometers, making it a viable option for extended outings on the water.

The NV1 measures 8.3 meters in length and is constructed from lightweight and durable carbon fiber materials to enhance its performance. Although Envgo has not disclosed the boat's total weight, the emphasis on reduced mass suggests that it will provide superior handling and agility. The boat can comfortably accommodate a pilot and five passengers, positioning it as an ideal choice for leisure trips and water sports activities, such as waterskiing.

Equipped with two electric motors boasting a peak power output of 245 kW--125 kW for continuous operation--the NV1 is designed for both speed and energy efficiency. The onboard battery is rated at 80 kWh and supports DC fast charging, adding to the convenience of operating this high-performance vessel.

The NV1 is not only technologically advanced but also features a sleek cockpit with a touchscreen interface and a 360-degree visibility system, enhancing safety during navigation and docking. Additional features include autonomous navigation capabilities and collision avoidance systems, further ensuring a secure driving experience. Moreover, the boat is fitted with a pylon, allowing users to tow waterskiers effortlessly.

With a price tag of $400,000, the NV1 is positioned as a premium offering in the market. A deposit of $1,000 is required for enthusiasts eager to reserve their units ahead of production, which is set to commence in the latter half of 2025. However, Envgo has not yet specified a timeline for delivery.

The official unveiling of the NV1 is scheduled for May 31st in Bracebridge, Ontario, where potential buyers and boating aficionados can experience the vessel firsthand.
