Conducted by a team from the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, Brown University, and Oxford University, the study examines various metrics employed to assess poverty in TB research, including income-based assessments, wealth indices, and multidimensional poverty indices (MPIs). The findings indicate that many of these commonly utilized tools inadequately address critical deprivation factors that influence TB risk and treatment, such as food insecurity, overcrowding, and healthcare accessibility.
