New Train Connections from Berlin and Leipzig to Poland

The Deutsche Bahn and PKP Intercity, the Polish state railway company, are set to introduce additional train connections between Germany and Poland starting this December. This expansion comes as a response to a significant increase in demand for travel between the two countries.

On December 14, a new route will be launched connecting Leipzig with Wroclaw and Kraków, which will feature two trains operating daily in each direction. This development is expected to reduce travel time from cities like Munich, Nuremberg, and Frankfurt to southern Poland by approximately two hours.

Furthermore, a new daily service will be established between Warsaw and Berlin, bringing the total to seven train pairs operating at two-hour intervals on this route. In addition to these daytime services, a new overnight train is planned to run from Berlin to Przemysl, located near the Polish-Ukrainian border, and another service will connect Berlin with Chelm via Lódz and Warsaw. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity by linking a second border city with Ukraine.

Moreover, the existing night train service from Munich to Warsaw will see an increase in capacity, with additional carriages being added for routes connecting Munich, Kraków, and Przemysl. These enhancements are part of a broader effort to improve rail travel options in the region and cater to the growing needs of international travelers.
