Emergency Vehicle Hindered by Reckless Driver in Oberursel

Oberursel witnessed a disturbing incident on April 23, 2025, when a black BMW 523i deliberately obstructed an emergency ambulance on the B456. The ambulance was en route from Bad Homburg Hospital to a rescue station when the driver of the BMW began to impede its progress at approximately 2:50 PM.

The BMW was reported to be driving slowly across both lanes, forcing the ambulance crew to reduce speed. Following this, the driver of the BMW accelerated, swerved into the ambulance's lane, and abruptly slowed down again. In an act of aggression, he displayed an obscene gesture towards the ambulance personnel before fleeing onto the A661 towards Frankfurt.

Local law enforcement has launched an investigation into the incident, focusing on charges of coercion and insult. Authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward and provide information by contacting them at (06171) 6240-0.

In a separate incident in Oberursel on the same day, a driver left the scene after causing damage to a parked vehicle on the 'Bleiche' parking lot. A grey Mercedes A-Class was struck, likely during parking maneuvers. The individual responsible failed to fulfill their legal obligations after the incident, and the estimated damage is around EUR1,500. Police are also seeking witnesses for this case.

Additionally, in Weilrod, a drunk driver was involved in a collision on April 23, 2025, around 4:25 PM, in a supermarket parking lot. A 47-year-old man, driving a blue VW, collided with the rear of a parked Citroën and left the scene without addressing the damage caused. Police later located the driver at his residence, where it was discovered that he was unlicensed and had a blood alcohol level exceeding 3.8%. The estimated damage from this incident is approximately EUR800, and the driver now faces multiple criminal charges.
