Elderly Woman Attacked at Bus Stop by 37-Year-Old

Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein - A shocking incident took place at a bus stop, where an elderly woman was violently attacked simply for wanting to sit down. At 11:10 AM, an 83-year-old woman arrived at the bus stop located at Kohlmarkt in Lübeck. A 37-year-old woman was already seated on the bench. According to initial police investigations, the senior politely asked the younger woman if she could join her on the bench.

What followed is almost unbelievable: for reasons that remain unclear, the seated woman suddenly struck the elderly lady in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, as stated by police spokesperson Ulli Fritz Gerlach.

After the brutal attack, the suspect fled approximately 200 meters into a nearby pedestrian zone. Employees from a clothing store chased after her. Shortly thereafter, police were able to apprehend the suspect.

Meanwhile, bystanders at the bus stop rushed to assist the injured elderly woman and called for emergency services. A doctor and paramedics arrived on the scene to provide medical attention. The elderly woman was taken to the hospital with a head injury.

Police spokesperson Gerlach confirmed that the 37-year-old is under investigation for suspected bodily harm. The motive behind her actions is currently part of an ongoing investigation.

This incident has raised concerns about safety and public behavior in shared spaces as the community reacts to the unexpected violence.
