Drunk Driver Attempts to Flee After Causing Accident in Brühl

Brühl - A 71-year-old woman caused significant disruption on Saturday evening after being involved in a traffic accident. The incident occurred around 10:20 PM when she was turning from Kerkrader Straße (L 150) onto Kölnstraße (L 194) and collided with another vehicle. Following the collision, both drivers initially stopped to assess the situation. However, it was soon discovered that the elderly driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Upon being notified, the police were dispatched to the scene. In an attempt to evade the authorities, the woman fled, leading to another accident that resulted in minor injuries to two individuals.

The police quickly launched a search operation and were able to apprehend the driver shortly thereafter. At the station, a blood sample was taken from her to determine her blood alcohol concentration. Additionally, her vehicle was confiscated along with her driver's license.

The woman now faces two separate criminal proceedings related to the accidents. The site of the incident remained cordoned off while law enforcement conducted their investigation and documented the circumstances surrounding the events.
