In a rather unusual incident, a 46-year-old man was apprehended by authorities for driving under the influence after he made a late-night stop at a gas station in Eilenburg, located in the Nordsachsen district. The driver, exhibiting signs of intoxication, ordered a Bockwurst, which drew the attention of a witness.

The concerned bystander observed the man's slurred speech and apparent inebriation while he placed his food order. Despite being in an impaired state, the man decided to drive away with his purchase. The witness promptly notified the police, who responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers conducted an alcohol breath test on the driver, revealing a staggering blood alcohol level of 1.8 per mille, well above the legal limit. Consequently, law enforcement officials confiscated his driver's license as part of the legal procedures that followed the incident.

This case highlights the dangers of driving under the influence and serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behavior when it comes to alcohol consumption, especially in relation to operating a vehicle. Authorities continue to emphasize the need for public awareness regarding the consequences of intoxicated driving.
