Frankfurt - A speed violator caused an accident on the evening of April 24, 2025, and subsequently fled the scene. Authorities attempted to stop a VW Golf GTI around 7:25 PM at Eschenheimer Anlage, but the driver ignored the police signals. It was only when the police activated their emergency lights that the driver accelerated heavily, ran a red light, and turned right heading north.
On Eschersheimer Landstraße, the driver again disregarded a red traffic signal, reaching speeds over 110 km/h, and entered oncoming traffic at the intersection of Bremer Straße. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle crashed near Spener Straße. The driver exited the car and fled towards the Dornbusch subway station. Despite a pursuit, law enforcement lost sight of the suspect.
The VW Golf GTI was seized by the police and transported to the police headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. Investigations are ongoing.
The suspect is described as a male, approximately 180 cm tall, around 20 years old, with slicked-back black hair, a white mustache, and dressed in gray-beige clothing. Witnesses who may have information are urged to contact the police at 069 / 755 - 46232.
