Dresden Police Seek Second Suspect in Stabbing Incident

Authorities in Dresden are actively searching for a second suspect following a stabbing incident involving a young American man who attempted to intervene in a case of harassment. The attack occurred on a Sunday night in a tram, where the victim sustained facial injuries.

The primary suspect, a 20-year-old Syrian national, is alleged to have attacked the 20-year-old American after he stepped in to protect women being harassed by a group of men. According to law enforcement, the victim received a significant laceration to his face but thankfully did not face life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, police conducted several searches at potential locations related to the suspect, but efforts to apprehend him have so far been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, another suspect, a 21-year-old Syrian, was arrested shortly after the attack and is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings. Initially released due to the lack of evidence supporting immediate detention, he is now facing serious charges linked to the attack.

The police have urged anyone with information about the remaining suspect to come forward as they continue their investigation into the incident. The authorities are treating this matter with utmost seriousness, emphasizing the need for community safety and cooperation.
