Disorderly Conduct at Kiel Train Station Leads to Police Intervention

Tue 29th Apr, 2025

Kiel - A 29-year-old man caused a disturbance at Kiel Central Station on April 28, 2025, after boarding a train from Neumünster to Kiel without a valid ticket. During a routine inspection near Bordesholm, he was unable to present a valid fare and became increasingly aggressive while police attempted to verify his identity. The individual, who had limited German language skills, appeared to be heavily intoxicated and possibly under the influence of other substances.

In response to his behavior, authorities transported him to the Federal Police station for further assessment. There, he exhibited unruly behavior by kicking furniture and spitting at the officers while shouting phrases indicative of aggression. Initially, he calmed down when warned about the possibility of being taken into custody; however, once the formalities were completed, he was issued a ban from the train station.

Shortly afterward, the man returned to the train station, once again yelling aggressively. This prompted the Federal Police to take him into preventive custody. While awaiting a medical evaluation, he urinated in his cell.

The attending physician confirmed his ability to remain in custody, leading to his transfer to the police detention center at approximately 6:30 PM, where he was kept until 6:00 AM the following morning to reflect on his actions. Following this incident, he faces charges for fare evasion as well as potential costs associated with his detention and the cleaning of the holding cell.
