Couple Targeted in Antisemitic Attack in Charlottenburg

In a troubling incident reported in Charlottenburg, a couple was verbally assaulted by two unidentified individuals on Sunday afternoon. The attack occurred around 5 PM in Friedbergstraße, where the 33-year-old woman was visibly wearing a Star of David necklace.

According to police reports, the couple, which included a 36-year-old man, was approached by a man and a woman who launched a verbal tirade against them. When the man attempted to film the encounter with his mobile phone, the assailants reportedly grabbed him and knocked the phone from his hand. Although he experienced pain in his arm as a result of the altercation, the victim declined medical assistance.

The police confirmed that the incident was motivated by antisemitism, given the symbolic nature of the woman's jewelry. The State Protection Department, which specializes in hate crimes, has taken over the investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
