In the early hours of Thursday, an audacious burglary took place at a warehouse located in the industrial area of Heide. Unidentified individuals gained entry into the facility on Süderdamm Street, making off with copper materials valued at several thousand euros.

The criminals forcibly entered the building, disabling the surveillance cameras in the process. They managed to break in around midnight and swiftly loaded the stolen copper onto a waiting vehicle before fleeing the scene.

At approximately 3:00 AM, a police patrol spotted the alarm triggered at the warehouse. Upon investigation, officers found a door that had been broken open, but the perpetrators had already escaped by that time.

The criminal investigation department in Heide has since taken charge of the case, and authorities suspect that the thieves utilized a vehicle for transporting the stolen goods.

Local residents who may have observed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the Süderdamm area during the night are encouraged to report their information to the police. They can reach the department at 0481 94 0 or via email at Heide.KPSt@polizei.landsh.de.
