Active Cooling Solution for iPhone Gamers with MagSafe Technology

Wed 19th Feb, 2025

As mobile gaming continues to gain popularity, many iPhone users have encountered the issue of overheating during intensive gameplay. To address this concern, Aukey, a well-known accessory manufacturer, has introduced an innovative cooling solution designed specifically for gamers.

The new device, known as the MagFusion GameFrost (model LC-G10), combines a robust active cooling system with the convenience of MagSafe technology. This accessory not only enhances gaming performance but also supports wireless charging via Qi2, offering a power output of 15 watts, making it capable of fast charging.

One of the standout features of the MagFusion GameFrost is its integrated fan, which is designed to operate quietly while monitoring the device's temperature. This allows the fan to adjust its operation based on the heat generated by the iPhone, helping to maintain optimal performance during prolonged gaming sessions. The accessory is compatible with all MagSafe devices from Apple and Qi-compatible devices from other manufacturers, although the latter may not have the necessary magnetic features unless they support Qi2.

According to Aukey, the cooling system can lower the temperature of the device by up to 20 degrees Celsius. This capability is not only beneficial during gaming but also during the charging process, as wireless charging can cause the iPhone to heat up significantly. Excessive heat can lead to diminished battery performance and lifespan, making this cooling solution particularly appealing for users who frequently utilize fast charging.

While the MagFusion GameFrost does not possess an official "Made for iPhone" certification from Apple, Aukey emphasizes its compatibility with MagSafe technology. The cooling unit remains effective even when the iPhone is housed in a MagSafe case, although its cooling efficiency may be slightly reduced in that scenario. Additionally, the device features a USB-C port and includes a temperature display that users can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

The MagFusion GameFrost is set to retail in the United States at a price starting from $43, with expectations for availability on Amazon Germany at around 45 euros. Other manufacturers have also released similar products that incorporate cooling fans for vehicle use, targeting the overheating issues that can arise when smartphones are used in hot environments.
