Berlin - Tensions flared in Lichtenberg yesterday evening as clashes broke out between football fans and law enforcement after a regional league match. Despite the game itself taking place without incident at the stadium located on Normannenstraße, the atmosphere shifted dramatically during the dispersal of spectators around 9:25 PM.

As fans began to exit, a series of provocations led to physical confrontations with police officers. In the aftermath of these altercations, five officers sustained minor injuries but were able to continue their duties. Authorities arrested four individuals aged 18, 23, and 31, who were also subjected to blood tests as part of the legal proceedings.

Investigations are currently underway concerning multiple offenses, including public disorder, assault on law enforcement officials, attempted bodily harm, and verbal abuse. The police have stated that they will pursue all leads to ensure accountability and maintain public safety during such events.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding fan behavior at sporting events and the challenges law enforcement faces in managing large crowds. As investigations continue, more information is expected to be released regarding the outcomes of the arrests and the extent of injuries sustained by officers.
