Jensen emphasized the importance of understanding that offenders rarely fit the stereotype of a 'stranger danger.' Instead, they are often people close to the victim, such as family members, friends, or community leaders. Furthermore, she highlighted that many offenders do not identify as pedophilic, but rather seek power over vulnerable individuals.

According to Jensen, signs of abuse in children can be subtle. Common indicators may include sudden changes in behavior, aggression, anxiety, or unexplained physical complaints. She stressed the need for adults to be vigilant and seek professional advice if they suspect abuse.

In Germany, while official reports of child abuse are documented, organizations estimate that the actual number of affected children is significantly higher. Jensen pointed out that societal taboos surrounding the topic often hinder discussions, yet it is crucial for communities to acknowledge and address the prevalence of such crimes.

To improve the protection of children, Jensen advocates for better training for professionals who work with children, emphasizing the need for clear guidelines on recognizing signs of abuse. She also calls for stricter penalties for offenders, including the establishment of registries for individuals who exhibit suspicious behavior towards minors.
