An unusual incident unfolded in the Allgäu region when a Birma cat named Staller was taken from his home in Füssen and transported over 600 kilometers to Saxony by a former neighbor. The case has drawn attention due to the extensive efforts made by authorities to locate and return the missing pet.

The two Birma cats, Hubert and Staller, had become familiar figures in their neighborhood, often venturing outdoors and sometimes visiting nearby households. This habit became problematic when a neighboring family relocated from Füssen to Bautzen, Saxony. After their departure, Staller disappeared, prompting his owner to suspect that the cat had been taken by the former neighbors.

Following the disappearance, the owner reported the incident to local law enforcement, who initiated a theft investigation. The police findings substantiated the suspicion of unlawful removal, and a search warrant was obtained for the new residence of the ex-neighbors in Saxony's Bautzen district.

Upon executing the search, officers discovered Staller at the property. According to police accounts, an attempt was made to release the cat through a terrace exit as officers arrived, but authorities intervened promptly to prevent Staller's escape. The cat was then safely recovered by law enforcement.

After securing the animal, police officers undertook the long journey back to the Allgäu region, covering approximately 600 kilometers to reunite Staller with his feline companion Hubert and their owner. The cats, separated for an extended period, were finally brought back together in their original home.

Legal proceedings are now underway for the individual implicated in the incident. The investigation against the 57-year-old woman suspected of taking the cat has concluded, and the case has been forwarded to the appropriate public prosecutor's office for further action.

This case highlights the complexities that can arise when pets with outdoor access form bonds beyond their immediate households and underscores the legal consequences of removing another person's animal without consent. Authorities continue to remind the public of the importance of respecting pet ownership and the legal protections afforded to animals under current legislation.

The incident has served as a reminder to pet owners regarding the risks associated with allowing animals to roam freely and the need for vigilance in maintaining the welfare and security of their pets.
