Five Injured in A24 Bus Collision with Guardrail

Schwarzenbek (Schleswig-Holstein) - A serious incident occurred Saturday morning on the A24 highway, where a bus collided with the central guardrail at approximately 8:57 AM. The bus, part of a rail replacement service operating between Hamburg and Berlin due to ongoing renovations on the railway line, veered off the roadway for reasons that are currently unclear.

The vehicle lost control, spun, and came to a standstill across the highway, prompting a large-scale emergency response. Firefighters were on high alert, preparing for a potential mass casualty situation as police and paramedics arrived in significant numbers to manage the aftermath.

According to police reports, the bus driver sustained serious injuries, while four of the twelve passengers on board experienced minor injuries. Initial reports had indicated only four injuries in total.
