Burglars Steal Thousands of Euros Worth of Cigarettes in Gemünden

In the early hours of October 4, 2025, a burglary occurred at a beverage market located in Gemünden, where thieves made off with a significant quantity of cigarettes. At approximately 1:30 AM, two unidentified individuals gained entry to the store situated on Ellnröder Straße by shattering the glass front door with an unknown object.

Once inside, the intruders swiftly filled a box and a sack with numerous cigarette packs from the cash register area. Following their heist, they escaped the scene in a dark-colored vehicle. The estimated damage to the property is around 1,000 euros, while the value of the stolen cigarettes is believed to be in the mid-four-figure range.

The police department in Frankenberg is currently seeking assistance from the public for any information related to this incident. Witnesses are encouraged to contact authorities at 06451 72030.
