Leaked Photos Show Extensive Damage at US Bases After Iranian Strikes

Photographs obtained by CBS, a US partner of the BBC, show significant damage to several American military sites in the Middle East following Iranian strikes. The images, said to have been supplied by active-duty military personnel, depict a radar aircraft that had been cut in two, destroyed trailers, and buildings with severe structural damage.

The undated pictures were reportedly taken at US bases and installations in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. An unnamed service member who spoke to CBS suggested that the scale of the damage to US bases had not been properly disclosed to the American public, describing a sense of being left exposed to danger without adequate awareness.

The White House directed inquiries from the BBC to US Central Command, which had not responded to a request for comment at the time of reporting. The BBC noted that it has not independently verified the authenticity of the leaked photographs.

The images emerged a day after a Pentagon watchdog report confirmed that hundreds of buildings and structures at US military bases in the Middle East had sustained damage or been destroyed as a result of Iranian attacks.
