Tragic Shooting in Austin Target Parking Lot Claims Three Lives

AUSTIN, Texas -- A shooting incident occurred on Monday in the parking area of a Target store in Austin, resulting in the deaths of two adults and a child. The assailant subsequently fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, prompting a police pursuit that concluded approximately 20 miles away, where he was apprehended using a Taser.

The Austin Police Department identified the suspect as a man in his 30s who has a documented history of mental health issues. Authorities are actively investigating the motive behind this tragic event.

According to Police Chief Lisa Davis, officers arrived at the location around 2:15 PM and discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
