Former Thyssenkrupp Executive Appointed to Lead DB Cargo Amid Restructuring

The management structure of Germany's national railway, Deutsche Bahn, is undergoing significant changes as Bernhard Osburg, former head of the steel division at Thyssenkrupp, is poised to take charge of DB Cargo, the company's freight subsidiary. This move follows the recent departure of Sigrid Nikutta, who previously led the freight operations, after her restructuring plan was deemed insufficient by an external assessment.

The supervisory board of Deutsche Bahn is expected to approve Osburg's appointment during a special meeting scheduled for the end of October.
