Sun 22nd Jun, 2025

The Berlin Thunder, a prominent team in the European League of Football (ELF), experienced a disappointing setback during their sixth match of the season, succumbing to their first home defeat against the Munich Ravens. The match, held at the Preussenstadion, concluded with a score of 12-35 in favor of the visiting team from Munich.

Until this point, the Thunder had enjoyed a strong home record, relying on their home field advantage to secure victories. However, the Ravens proved to be a formidable opponent, demonstrating their prowess and solidifying their reputation as a competitive team in the league.

The game began with a cautious first quarter, which concluded without any points on the board. It wasn't until the second quarter that the Ravens began to establish their dominance, scoring two touchdowns that put them ahead and confirmed their status as favorites in the matchup.

Despite trailing, the Thunder's quarterback, Jakeb Sullivan, managed to drive his team to their first touchdown just before halftime, executing a short four-yard run into the end zone. This effort brought the score to 6-14. The Ravens responded with another touchdown by Justin Rodney shortly after halftime, extending their lead to 21-6. Nevertheless, the Thunder refused to back down, and Bais Kouanda's touchdown two minutes later narrowed the gap to 12-21.

In the final quarter, the Ravens sealed their victory with two more touchdowns. Quarterback Russell Tabor effectively connected with receivers Benedikt Pohler and Michael Stadler, further widening the score. The Thunder struggled to mount a comeback, and an interception by Christoph Nitzlnader halted any hopes of a late rally.

This defeat leaves the Berlin Thunder at the bottom of the North Division standings in the ELF, while the Munich Ravens celebrate their first away win of the season. The Thunder will need to regroup and strategize as they look to improve their performance in the upcoming matches.
