A 17-year-old male who was hospitalized following a stabbing incident near the Alexa shopping center in Berlin reportedly attempted to discharge himself from medical care and subsequently became violent towards police officers on site.

According to official police information, the altercation initially took place at approximately 8:20 p.m. on a Thursday evening at Ravelinplatz, adjacent to the popular shopping destination in Berlin-Mitte. During a dispute with an unidentified individual, the teenager suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. Emergency responders transported the injured youth to a hospital, where he underwent surgery. Medical professionals indicated that, while the injuries were serious, his life was not in immediate danger.

The situation escalated further the following morning at a hospital in the Friedrichshain district. Medical staff advised the teenager against self-discharge, citing the need for continued treatment and monitoring due to the severity of his injuries. Despite these recommendations, the adolescent insisted on leaving the facility. As tensions rose, hospital personnel contacted local authorities for assistance.

Upon arrival, police officers encountered the teenager exhibiting aggressive behavior. Authorities stated that the youth initially directed verbal insults at the officers. He then approached one officer with raised arms in a threatening manner. Law enforcement intervened, restraining the individual on a hospital bed to prevent further escalation. During this confrontation, the teenager continued to display hostility by spitting in the direction of police officers and physically striking one officer multiple times in the face.

Medical staff quickly resumed intensive care for the youth once the situation was brought under control. Due to his aggressive conduct and concerning behavior, authorities arranged for a psychiatric evaluation to assess his mental and emotional state.

The incident resulted in injuries to two police officers. One officer sustained facial injuries and was required to leave active duty for medical assessment. Another officer also ended his shift after being spat on and was evaluated by a healthcare professional. Both officers are currently receiving appropriate care.

Police investigations are ongoing to identify the assailant responsible for the initial stabbing at the Alexa shopping center. No arrests have yet been reported in connection with the attack. The motive behind the confrontation remains unclear, and authorities are appealing for witnesses who may have observed the altercation or have information relevant to the case.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding youth violence and public safety in urban centers, as well as the challenges faced by medical and law enforcement personnel in managing volatile situations involving injured suspects. Security measures around major public venues in Berlin continue to be reviewed in light of such events.
