In response to increasing geopolitical tensions and heightened global competition, Europe is making a concerted effort to enhance its technological independence. The upcoming Gitex Europe trade fair is set to take place from May 21 to 23, 2025, in Berlin, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and cloud technologies aimed at bolstering digital resilience.

The event is expected to host over 1,400 companies from 100 countries, including major players like IBM, Cisco, Nvidia, and SAP. More than 500 international speakers, including AI innovator Geoffrey Hinton, will engage in discussions covering future technologies, data security, and green technology.

A significant aspect of the fair is its emphasis on startups, with over 750 young companies and 20 unicorns showcasing their innovative solutions, including firms like Neurocast.ai and CloudBees. Additionally, specialized forums will address critical issues such as cybersecurity and climate protection.

Berlin's Economy Senator has expressed strong commitment to solidifying Germany's position as a global hub for investment and pioneering technologies. She highlighted the importance of platforms like Gitex Europe in fostering partnerships and collaborations across the tech industry.

Trixie Loh-Mirmand, CEO of the event organizer Kaoun International, emphasized that Europe is positioning itself as a central location for discussions and developments in AI, quantum technology, and deep tech. The event will serve as a significant platform for networking, deal-making, and digital innovation.

With the Gitex Europe trade fair, Berlin seeks not only to attract international attention but also to cultivate an environment that nurtures technological advancements and collaborations within Europe. By focusing on cutting-edge technologies and fostering a robust startup ecosystem, the city aims to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital innovation across the continent.
