Berlin - Authorities have apprehended two suspects believed to be involved in a series of burglary attempts in the Kollwitzkiez area of Prenzlauer Berg. Following an investigation led by the specialist unit of the Berlin Police Directorate 5, the suspects, a 28-year-old man and his 25-year-old accomplice, were taken into custody.

The investigation commenced when police identified the older suspect, alleged to be responsible for multiple break-ins across Berlin. Undercover officers monitored his activities in the Charlottenburg district, and on the night of August 20, 2025, they observed both men entering several residential buildings in the Kollwitzkiez.

At approximately 1:40 AM on August 21, the police executed their plan and arrested the pair. Following their capture, investigators conducted a search of the 28-year-old's residence under the authorization of the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office.

During the search, law enforcement uncovered a significant amount of evidence including burglary tools, adhesive substances used for surveillance, and stolen items such as luxury jewelry and wristwatches. Notably, one of the recovered watches was linked to a burglary that occurred on August 11, 2025.

The suspects have since been handed over to judicial authorities, and the investigation continues as officials work to determine the full extent of their criminal activities.
