A traffic incident occurred on the B27 near Bad Dürrheim on Tuesday, resulting from a sudden medical emergency experienced by a 27-year-old driver. According to authorities, the accident unfolded at approximately 17:00, involving three vehicles and leaving two individuals with injuries.

Initial reports indicate that the driver of a Ford lost control of his vehicle due to a health-related issue. As the Ford traveled along the B27, it first made contact with the side mirror of a Dacia, operated by a 31-year-old woman. The impact caused minor damage to the Dacia, but the situation quickly escalated.

Following the initial collision, the Ford veered further, subsequently crashing into a Toyota driven by a 55-year-old woman. She was accompanied by a 52-year-old passenger. Both the Toyota driver and her passenger sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency medical teams responded promptly, providing first aid on site and transporting the injured individuals for further medical evaluation. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed, but authorities confirm that both women were treated following the incident.

The damage caused to the vehicles was significant. The Dacia sustained an estimated 1,000 euros in damages primarily to the side mirror and adjacent bodywork. The Toyota, which bore the brunt of the collision, was assessed with approximately 8,000 euros in damages, reflecting substantial impact to the vehicle's structure and mechanical components. The Ford, which initiated the sequence of events, was severely damaged and required towing from the scene. Authorities estimate repair costs for the Ford to be around 6,000 euros.

Police conducted an on-site investigation to determine the precise circumstances leading to the accident. Preliminary findings attribute the incident to the medical emergency suffered by the Ford's driver, which caused a loss of vehicle control. There is no indication of excessive speed, alcohol, or other external contributing factors. The authorities have not released details regarding the current medical condition of the Ford driver.

Traffic on the B27 was temporarily disrupted as emergency services managed the scene, secured the vehicles, and cleared debris from the roadway. The affected section of the road was partially closed to traffic during the rescue and recovery operations, leading to minor delays in the area. Police have advised motorists to exercise caution and remain vigilant for sudden health-related incidents, which can unexpectedly impact road safety.

This accident highlights the importance of regular health checks for drivers and the unpredictable nature of medical emergencies on the road. The police continue to investigate the incident to fully understand all contributing factors and have urged witnesses to come forward with any additional information.
