Arson Suspected in Teltow Blaze as Police Investigate

A significant emergency response was initiated in Teltow, Germany, following a fire that engulfed two adjacent single-family homes. The incident led to the deployment of multiple fire brigades and rescue services, which worked tirelessly for several hours to control the flames.

Authorities have indicated that the fire, which broke out on Monday in the Gardenstraße area, is being treated as a case of arson. The criminal police are investigating a man believed to be connected to the residents of the affected homes. He was found outside of the structures with serious injuries, which initial reports suggest he may have inflicted upon himself.

After being detained, the suspect was transported to a hospital for treatment. Investigators are pursuing charges of severe arson against him, as forensic teams continue to gather evidence at the scene.

The fire prompted a large-scale response, with approximately 100 emergency personnel and 20 vehicles deployed to tackle the situation. The firefighting efforts extended deep into the night, reflecting the severity of the incident.

As of the latest reports, four individuals sustained injuries related to the fire. Two police officers and two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation, with one firefighter requiring hospitalization. Additionally, a woman present at the scene experienced a shock and received immediate assistance from emergency responders.

Both residences suffered extensive damage due to the blaze, although official estimates regarding the total value of the property damage have yet to be released.
