Survey Reveals Apple Users Willing to Pay for Apple Intelligence

A recent survey conducted by Morgan Stanley has revealed that a significant majority of Apple users are open to paying for the company's artificial intelligence system, Apple Intelligence. The study, which involved over 3,300 participants, indicates a notable willingness among users to invest in this emerging technology.

According to the findings, only 14% of respondents stated they would not consider paying for Apple Intelligence, while an additional 6% were undecided, preferring to wait and see how the service evolves. In contrast, a substantial 80% expressed readiness to spend money on the AI system.

Among those surveyed, approximately 30% indicated they would be willing to pay between $10 and $14.99 per month for the service. Meanwhile, 17% were inclined to pay between $5 and $9.99, and only 11% would consider a subscription priced below $5. Interestingly, only 22% of participants showed a willingness to pay $15 or more per month.

It's important to note that the survey was conducted prior to Apple's announcement regarding delays in launching new Siri features that are expected to be integrated with Apple Intelligence. These features are designed to enhance Siri's capabilities, enabling it to understand personal user context and interact with applications more effectively. The rollout of these updates may take up to a year.

While these figures reflect a general interest in Apple's AI offerings, the amounts users are willing to pay are relatively lower compared to competitors. For instance, OpenAI charges approximately $23 for its Plus version of ChatGPT, and Anthropic's Claude service costs around $20. Although these services offer free access with limited capabilities, premium subscriptions provide users with enhanced features and faster response times. In contrast, Apple Intelligence's current capabilities include basic writing assistance and simple image generation, making direct comparisons challenging.

The Morgan Stanley survey aims to provide a representative sample based on age, gender, and geographical distribution, but it primarily reflects the views of American consumers. The U.S. market has been the primary testing ground for Apple Intelligence, which only recently became available in Europe.
