Apple has announced a significant expansion of its operations in Berlin, Germany, with the creation of at least nine new job openings in the fields of public relations and marketing. This move underscores the company's commitment to strengthening its presence in the German capital.
The tech giant's corporate location in Berlin has become more visible as it now appears prominently on the building's signage at the historic former telegraph office near Monbijou Park. The company has secured substantial office space in this iconic structure, which also houses a trendy hotel. Unlike its previous focus primarily on Munich, Apple seems to be taking Berlin seriously as a key market, even as it continues to expand its operations in Bavaria with a massive mobile chip center.
As part of its new focus on Berlin, Apple is actively recruiting for various marketing and public relations positions. The company recently posted job listings for at least nine roles specifically tailored for its Berlin office. According to the recruitment portal, more than half of these positions have already been filled. The new hires will include product marketing managers responsible for the iPhone as well as other products such as the iPad, Apple Watch, and audio devices.
Moreover, Apple is seeking a Country Marcom Manager for Germany, a crucial role that has been open since May. This position will play a vital role in tailoring Apple's marketing campaigns to better align with the German market, leveraging local insights to influence strategies back at the company's headquarters in Cupertino.
In the public relations sector, Apple is looking to fill two roles for PR managers to oversee communication in Germany and Northern Europe. One of these positions requires fluency in both German and English, while the other necessitates proficiency in at least one regional language in addition to English. Apple has also filled the position of a Product Marketing Lead, responsible for assessing market opportunities and supporting local teams during product launches.
Additionally, a Strategy Lead for the Marcom department is being recruited to help shape Apple's future in Germany. Communication roles such as Communications Lead and Communications Manager are also being advertised, focusing on collaboration with retailers and mobile network partners. Both of these roles require fluency in German and English at a business level.
This expansion reflects Apple's strategic approach to enhancing its market presence in Germany, particularly in Berlin, which is increasingly recognized as a hub for technology and innovation.
