Alba Berlin has announced the signing of Norris Agbakoko, marking their first acquisition for the upcoming basketball season. The 25-year-old center, who stands at 2.17 meters tall, joins the team from EWE Baskets Oldenburg, a fellow competitor in the Basketball Bundesliga.
Agbakoko had a notable performance in the recently concluded season, averaging 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game over approximately 22 minutes of playtime. His journey in basketball has been relatively short, having only played for eight years. He was identified and developed by the Niedersachsen team during the youth training tournament 'Jugend trainiert für Olympia'.
Alba's sports director expressed enthusiasm about Agbakoko's potential and development over the years. The team aims to support him in realizing his full capabilities within their system. His remarkable agility and coordination, especially given his height, make him a fitting addition to Alba's playing style.
The new contract will extend until the end of the 2027/28 season, reflecting the club's confidence in Agbakoko's abilities and future contributions to the team. As Alba prepares for the challenges ahead, they look forward to integrating Agbakoko into their roster and leveraging his skills in the forthcoming season.
