Wed 25th Jun, 2025

In a concerning incident involving an Air India flight from London to Mumbai, several passengers and crew members reported experiencing dizziness and nausea during the journey. The flight, designated AI130, took off from Heathrow Airport in London and lasted approximately nine hours before landing in Mumbai.

Upon arrival, four individuals--two passengers and two cabin crew members--continued to display symptoms of illness, prompting medical attention. The airline confirmed the occurrences, stating that a total of five passengers and two crew members experienced discomfort at various stages of the flight. Medical personnel at the Mumbai airport attended to the affected individuals, all of whom were later able to leave the medical facility unharmed.

The airline is currently investigating the incident, and relevant authorities have been informed. This event adds to a series of troubling occurrences associated with Air India. Just days prior, another Air India flight originating from Birmingham to New Delhi was diverted to Saudi Arabia due to a bomb threat, raising concerns about passenger safety.

Furthermore, on June 13, a subsidiary of Air India had to make an emergency landing in Thailand after a bomb threat was identified on a flight from Phuket to New Delhi. This pattern of incidents raises questions about operational safety standards and the overall reliability of the airline.

The recent flight incident also occurred shortly after a tragic accident involving another Air India aircraft in Ahmedabad, where a Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff under still-unknown circumstances, resulting in a significant loss of life. These events have triggered scrutiny from India's aviation authority, which has called for accountability from Air India officials regarding serious oversights in safety protocols.

The sequence of incidents has led to heightened public concern regarding the airline's operational practices and the safety of its passengers. As investigations continue, both passengers and regulatory bodies are awaiting further clarity on the causes of these distressing events.
