Munich. While Bastian Schweinsteiger was playing against AS Roma in the Allianz Arena yesterday evening, just around the corner, 6 kilometres away, the Bayern Munich football star was honored.

The Irish rock band U2, who played yesterday at the same time as the Champions League game from Bayern against AS Roma in the Olympia stadium, paid homage from the lead singer Bono to the midflieder Schweinsteiger.

It was after 22:30 when U2 played an encore infront of 75,000 visitors. Bono acted as sports commentator and reported the result of the game in the Allianz Arena. "Bayern two, Roma zero", he said into the microphone and caused ecstasy in the crowd.

To the intro of "Ultra Violet" he took of his black leather jacket and revealed: a Bayern shirt with number 31 and the name of Bastian Schweinsteiger. He wore it until the end of the show.
