Police crackdown on flyer posting

Munich. A bright variety of promotional leaflets are annoying many citizens in Bogenhausen and increasingly the police.

Inhabitants of Bogenhausen and Arabella Park districts complained last autumn about posted flyers over an inch deep, partially superimposed over each other and even glued/laminated promotional leaflets, which were on almost every traffic light and lampposts at eye level.

Wilhelm Wild, the official speaker of the local Police department, said to tz: "We have to focus especially on four removals companies from Taufkirchen and Munich. They are competitors and are sticking advertisements over each others flyers constantly".

Another problem is Romanian car dealers, who attach thousands of business cards to cars: "The cards all over the place and spoil the area. The citizens are angry and rightly so".

Such business card campaigns with commercial intentions are now consistently pursued by the police and KVR. Their success however is modest. The car dealers are elusive. And the removal companies seem to be ready to pay the fines of up to 40,000 Euro, because the advertising costs would probably be even higher
