Munich. The flea market at the Theresienwiese is so unique and well known that dealers and buyers come from very far away to participate. Last weekend saw ideals conditions, which contributed to make it a great family day out and an all-round success for everyone involved. The weather last weekend was perfect for the flea market. It was dry and sunny, but not so hot that the people prefer to be in beer gardens. On Saturday, the number of visitors reached a record 40,000 people and goods were offered by more than 3,000 traders.

The flea market has grown into a mega-event. The spokesman of Bavarian Red Cross, the organizer of the event, said  "this was a record-flea market that  reached its capacity limits". The Red Cross will discuss with the city authorities how to prevent overcrowding in future.
