BMW to invest more than 300 million EUR in the UK

Munich, dpa - BMW wants to expand its UK plants in the next three years with a further 250 million pounds (315 million euros). The auto company reported Monday in Munich, that they will invest in the Mini plant in Oxford, the pressing plant in Swindon and an engine plant at Hams Hall.
The investments are part of the growth strategy for the BMW Mini brand. In medium term there should be up to ten different models of the small car.
The 250 million pounds will be an addition to an investment of 500 million pounds (630 million euros) which was announced a year ago.
Around 5500 employees are employed at the so-called mini-production triangle.
