Freising, Bavaria - An unfortunate accident occurred at a popular recreational area in Freising on Friday, resulting in the drowning of an 82-year-old man. Witnesses reported the incident as the elderly man sought relief from the heat.

The man arrived at the well-frequented shore of Pullinger Weiher using his motorized mobility scooter as temperatures began to dip in the early evening. Eyewitnesses noted that he entered the water with a swimming noodle, venturing a few meters into the lake.

Shortly after entering the water, the man reportedly tipped forward, prompting concern among onlookers. Witnesses stated that he did not resurface, leading one bystander to jump into the water to retrieve him. Despite immediate attempts at resuscitation by bystanders and medical responders, the man's heart had already stopped beating, and the attending physician later confirmed his passing.

The local criminal police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death. Initial findings indicate no evidence of foul play or external factors contributing to the tragedy.

This incident has raised awareness regarding safety measures at popular swimming spots, particularly for older individuals who may be more vulnerable in aquatic environments. Authorities are urging swimmers to remain cautious and vigilant while enjoying leisure activities, especially during peak summer temperatures.
