An 11-year-old boy is reported to have stabbed a 13-year-old in Remscheid during a physical altercation, resulting in serious injuries. According to police sources, the incident occurred when the two boys had arranged to settle a dispute. The 13-year-old sustained two knife wounds to the leg, but fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The victim was promptly taken to a hospital for further medical treatment. Following the incident, the 11-year-old fled the scene with an unrelated companion but was later located by authorities and handed over to the criminal police.
Initial reports indicate that the confrontation stemmed from a previous conflict at school, with the 13-year-old reportedly initiating the physical exchange. In response, the younger boy allegedly used a kitchen knife to inflict the injuries.
Authorities from the Remscheid Youth Welfare Office are currently evaluating the possibility of placing the 11-year-old in a different environment, although they have found no grounds for such action at this time. Consequently, he has been returned to the care of his parents, who have no prior criminal record.
This incident follows another alarming case earlier the same day in Berlin-Spandau, where a 13-year-old attacked a 12-year-old classmate with a stabbing weapon. The injured student required surgery and was transported to the hospital. Police are actively searching for the alleged attacker, who had left the school premises after the incident.
Both students involved in the Berlin case are German citizens and reside in the vicinity. Investigators have ruled out any potential motives related to xenophobia or religious beliefs. The situation remains serious, but the condition of the hospitalized 12-year-old is currently stable.
These recent violent events involving minors raise significant concerns about youth behavior and the underlying issues contributing to such aggressive confrontations.
