Violence Erupts at Maifest in Maikammer: Police Investigate

Maikammer experienced a disturbing incident during its annual Maifest on Friday evening, where two separate cases of assault were reported. The local police have commenced investigations into the events that unfolded at the festival.

According to police reports, the first incident occurred around 10:10 PM when an unidentified individual struck a 30-year-old man from the Speyer region in the face. Despite a search for the assailant, authorities were unable to locate him. Following the altercation, the victim exhibited aggressive behavior towards other festival attendees, prompting police to take him into custody for his safety and the safety of others.

The second incident took place in the early hours of Saturday at approximately 1:30 AM, involving a 20-year-old man from Schifferstadt. This individual engaged in a dispute with a female motorist after criticizing her driving. In response, the woman exited her vehicle and physically attacked him before fleeing the scene.
