Severe Collision in Neukölln Injures Four Men; 22-Year-Old Resuscitated

A serious traffic accident occurred on Sonnenallee in Berlin-Neukölln, resulting in injuries to four men, one of whom required resuscitation following the incident.

According to preliminary investigations by local authorities, the accident transpired on a Sunday evening when a 46-year-old driver allegedly failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle. The second vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old man, was reportedly traveling at an excessive speed at the time of the collision.

Both drivers sustained head injuries in the crash, along with two passengers in the younger driver's vehicle, aged 22 and 21. The injuries sustained by the 22-year-old were particularly severe, necessitating immediate medical attention and resuscitation efforts at the hospital. Emergency responders also transported the 46-year-old driver to the hospital for treatment.

The two other passengers were treated for their injuries on an outpatient basis. Authorities have launched an investigation into both drivers, focusing on potential charges of negligent bodily harm.

In the aftermath of the accident, the Berlin Fire Department and the city's sanitation services worked to clean up gasoline that had leaked from the severely damaged vehicles. The accident site was closed off to traffic for approximately 45 minutes before being reopened.

This incident adds to a concerning trend of traffic accidents in Berlin, highlighting the urgent need for increased road safety measures.
