Frankfurt Man Charged with Assaulting Women During Apartment Viewings
Frankfurt - Several women seeking to rent apartments have reportedly faced harrowing experiences with a man who allegedly drugged and assaulted them during property viewings. The Frankfurt Public Prosecutor's Office has announced charges against 43-year-old Dapeng Z., who is believed to have used prescription sleep medications to incapacitate his victims before committing the crimes.
According to the investigation, Dapeng Z., a resident of the Offenbach district, targeted women who were part of his social circle. The authorities were able to trace his activities through the analysis of cell phone data. The charges detail a disturbing pattern of behavior where Z. is accused of sedating seven women and assaulting them while they were defenseless.
During the rental viewings, Z. allegedly posed as a woman to gain the trust of his victims. He purportedly claimed he was viewing the apartments on behalf of a girlfriend, which made the women feel more secure. However, the situation quickly escalated as Z. is said to have overpowered, drugged, and subsequently assaulted them. Furthermore, he reportedly recorded the assaults and shared the footage via the messaging platform Telegram with like-minded individuals.
As per the prosecutor's office, Z. engaged in discussions with these associates regarding sexual assaults on unconscious women, sharing methods for drugging victims, and even selling sedatives to individuals looking to commit similar acts.
Investigators noted that the severity of the drug dosages administered to the victims posed significant risks to their lives. The prosecutor emphasized that Z. acted with a complete disregard for the potential fatal consequences of his actions.
Dapeng Z. was apprehended in mid-November 2024 at his workplace in a car manufacturing company located in Raunheim, in the Groß-Gerau district. He has been in pre-trial detention since November 15, 2024, as the investigation continues.
