Torun Eriksen
Torun Eriksen is back. She is one of the Scandinavian women who emerged from nowhere a few years ago, bringing new shades and aspects to jazz singing. The Nordic, the local, and the mysterious blend in the Norwegian's influences from the birthplace of jazz. In Torun Eriksen's captivating and deeply touching timbre, gospel, soul, folklore, pop, and jazz converge, intertwining the secular and the sacred.
From a young age, the Skien-born Torun Eriksen sang in a gospel choir and remained devoted to church music for a long time. After several educational milestones, she released her debut album, Glittercard, in 2003 and was celebrated as a sensation for her debut.
Not only has the singer dazzled with solo albums, but she has also added a unique touch to productions by Bugge Wesseltoft, the Jazzchor Freiburg, Susan and Martin Weinert, and Jan Felix May.
