The Woods so wild - Balladen zum Lauschen & Tänze zum Mitmachen

Bayerisches Nationalmuseum

Join us for an engaging introduction to Renaissance dance styles with Véronique Daniels. Experience the lively world of The Woods so Wild, where ballads echo the tales of scandalous events from the streets and theaters of London. In England, ballads with worldly themes were printed and sold at street corners. We will sing these ballads and contrast them with arrangements for a mixed ensemble of unusual instruments, known as a "Broken Consort." You will also have the opportunity to dance!

Expect a delightful mix of courtly and rustic dances, promising entertainment for all. Following the concert, the audience will be invited to join in the dancing. Under the guidance of experienced dancers in historical practices, we will explore the steps that accompany Renaissance melodies.
