A highly political musical with outrageous content. This year's Masterclass at the Theater Academy August Everding tackles a political theme, showcasing the musical talents of tomorrow in our Silbersaal. With a mix of fast-paced rock music, quirky humor, and plenty of exaggerated kitsch, THE TOXIC AVENGER demonstrates that superheroes don't always have to shine. Sometimes they are just green and a bit slimy.

Melvin is shy, a bit nerdy, and rather inconspicuous. However, after an accidental plunge into toxic wastewater, he transforms into the monstrous superhero THE TOXIC AVENGER. His mission: to save the city from environmental destruction and the nefarious schemes of the corrupt mayor. Yet, his own mother is quite disappointed with her son's transformation. Moreover, his secret love for the blind librarian Sarah is put to a severe test by his new identity.

For over ten years, the Master's program in Musical at the Theater Academy August Everding has presented unique productions at the German Theater. In the Masterclass in Silbersaal, not only graduates showcase their talents, but also innovative concepts and creative ideas for staging in historic spaces are tested. This approach has redefined the musical genre with pieces like Into the Woods, Heirat' mich ein bisschen, John & Jen, Palast des Lächelns, Der kleine Horrorladen, Baby, and Elise & Paul.
