Planet Africa - Eine archäologische Zeitreise
This innovative, cross-continental exhibition project organized by the State Museums of Berlin and the German Archaeological Institute focuses on African archaeology. Africa is the continent with the longest presence of humans, where our origins and those of our evolutionary ancestors lie. Over millennia, new cultural techniques and dietary strategies have spread from Africa to the world.
Archaeological finds, artworks, and written records provide insights into the art, craft, technology, and environments of past eras, evidencing long-distance exchanges. Excavations of settlements reveal urban structures while simultaneously showcasing diverse mobile lifestyles.
An accompanying program is in development, including a workshop for children aged 5 and older on Sunday, July 13, at 1:00 PM (registration required via MVHS), and guided tours with MVHS on Sundays at 2:00 PM, among others (from May 16 to September 28).
