KÖRPERWELTEN | München | Zeitfensterticket
In the exhibition KÖRPERWELTEN - On the Pulse of Time, curator Dr. Angelina Whalley presents the human body in various aspects, showcasing its immense potential and vulnerability in facing the challenges of the 21st century. She describes, "The theme On the Pulse of Time is a reflection on the speed of modern life and its effects on our bodies and health. I aim to illustrate through this exhibition that the body is a mirror of our own lifestyles. Everything we do or fail to do - whether we are physically active, how we nourish ourselves, whether we are constantly under stress, or whether we have a healthy family or social environment - all impacts our body, both positively and negatively." Beyond explanations regarding nutrition, exercise, or immune system strengthening, the exhibition reveals how to achieve a healthy and long life in today's world.
KÖRPERWELTEN is an exhibition that fundamentally changes our perception of ourselves and our lifestyles. Over 56 million people worldwide have embarked on this journey of self-discovery. Starting from the human skeleton to the interplay of muscles and the development in the womb, visitors gain a detailed understanding of the structure of their inner selves. A variety of real human specimens, including impressive full-body plastinates, partial plastinates, transparent body slices, and individual organs, provide a comprehensive insight into the anatomy and physiology of the human body, explaining bodily and organ functions in an easily understandable way, along with common civilization-related diseases and their origins.
