Körperwelten - Am Puls der Zeit
From April 11, 2025, the plastinator Dr. Gunther von Hagens and curator Dr. Angelina Whalley will present their latest exhibition "Körperwelten München - Am Puls der Zeit" at the Kleine Olympiahalle in Munich.
The Körperwelten exhibitions have previously visited the Bavarian capital in 2003 and 2014, captivating visitors across generations. This time, the world's most successful anatomy exhibition returns with a new theme. In "Körperwelten - Am Puls der Zeit," curator Dr. Angelina Whalley showcases the human body in various facets, illustrating its vulnerability and potential in the face of the challenges of the 21st century.
The exhibition aims to invite attendees to critically reflect on the constant overstimulation of modern life and its long-term impacts on body and mind. The curator hopes to inspire individuals to take responsibility for their own health. The exhibition goes beyond discussions on nutrition, exercise, or immune system strengthening, demonstrating how a healthy and long life can be achieved in contemporary times.
Körperwelten is an exhibition that fundamentally alters our perspective on ourselves and our lifestyles. Over 56 million people worldwide have embarked on this journey of self-discovery through the human body. The fascinating real human specimens, including many full-body plastinates, provide deep insights into the complex structure of our interior and explain the functioning and interplay of body systems and organs, as well as common diseases and their origins.
The plastinates displayed in the exhibition come from the body donation program of the Institute for Plastination in Heidelberg, where more than 21,000 individuals are registered.
